Using Marketplace Listing Assistant
Save your Facebook Marketplace listings once, then renew or relist them in a few clicks. It fills the forms; you check them and click Publish.
Works with Facebook in English (UK or US). If your Facebook is in another language, switch it under Facebook → Settings → Language and region while you use the extension.
Install
- Open the extension's page in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
- Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Marketplace Listing Assistant, so its icon stays visible.
- Log into Facebook in the same Chrome window.
Everything the extension saves stays in this browser. There's no account to create.
Save your listings
The extension works from saved copies of your listings: every field and the full-size photos. Save them once:
All at once (recommended)
- Click the extension icon → Open dashboard → Tools → Import from Facebook.
- It opens your Selling page and saves each listing that isn't saved yet: details from its Edit page, photos from its public page. About 15 seconds each. Nothing on Facebook is changed.
- Keep that Facebook tab on screen while it works: Facebook only loads more listings while the tab is visible.
One at a time
- Open one of your listings on Facebook (its page or its Edit page).
- Click the extension icon → Save this listing.
Tip: Download a backup now and then (Dashboard → Tools → Download backup). Removing the extension from Chrome deletes what it stored.
Relist a listing
Relisting removes the old listing and posts a fresh copy from your saved details. Start it from the popup (Relist now) or a listing's card in the dashboard.
- Remove old. It finds the listing on your Selling page, outlines it in orange and asks Remove and continue? (or counts down 3 seconds if you turned on Delete old listings without asking).
- Create. Facebook's new-listing form opens and fills itself in order: category first, then every field, then the photos. A panel shows what was filled and anything to check.
- You publish. Look over the form, then click Facebook's Next → Publish, then I published it in the panel.
- Confirm. It checks your Selling page for the new copy and records the relist.
It stops and asks when something looks off
- Two listings have the same title (it can't tell which is the old one).
- The item sold or is pending on Facebook (sold items are marked sold and skipped).
- The price on Facebook is different from your saved copy (one click uses Facebook's price).
- Facebook didn't finish loading your listings, or you're logged into a different Facebook account.
- A relist was interrupted for more than 30 minutes (it never carries on by itself).
Prefer posting the new one first?
Dashboard → Settings → Relist order → Post the new one first: it creates the new copy, confirms it, then removes the old one. Deleting first avoids Facebook seeing a duplicate; posting first means the item is never off Marketplace.
Already deleted the old listing yourself? Use Post new copy only in the popup.
Renew a listing
Renew is Facebook's own button (⋯ → Renew). It moves the listing up and keeps its saves, messages and link. Facebook allows it a few days after listing and a limited number of times.
- Refresh from Facebook (top of the dashboard) reads each listing's Renew status: available now, available in N days, or no longer offered.
- When Renew is available, the suggested action is Renew; the extension clicks it for you and checks Facebook confirmed it.
What's due, and why
A listing is due when it hasn't been posted or renewed for the number of days in Settings (7 by default). Each card shows Due or Due in 3d, and the button shows the suggested next step:
| Suggestion | When |
|---|---|
| Wait | Listed in the last few days, or Facebook says Renew opens in N days. |
| Renew | About 1–4 weeks old and Facebook offers Renew. Keeps saves and messages. |
| Lower price | A month or more with plenty of clicks but no sale: people are interested, the price may be the obstacle. |
| Relist | Older, few clicks, or Renew no longer offered. A fresh listing. |
Suggestions are a guide, not a promise: relisting doesn't guarantee more views. You can always pick the other action from the card's ⋯ menu.
Queue & keep going
- Queue: select listings in the dashboard (or a card's ⋯ → Add to queue). The Queue tab works through them up to your daily limit and picks up where it left off.
- Keep going until today's limit (popup checkbox): after each repost it starts the next one, spaced out. You still click Publish each time.
- Daily reminder (Settings): a notification when listings are due. It never posts anything.
Limits & staying safe
Facebook may limit accounts that post a lot. The extension keeps things modest: a daily limit (3 by default, change it in the popup), limits for new listings and vehicles per 30 days, reposts per hour, and minutes between automatic reposts (Settings → Advanced). Facebook doesn't publish its limits; if it shows you one, set yours lower.
Listings & editor
- Search and filters: All, Due, Needs attention, Sold; more under More filters (stale, paused, type, age, saved views).
- Cards show price (and a price drop), age, clicks, status, and the main problem if there is one (e.g. no photos). One button runs the suggested step; the rest is in ⋯.
- Select several (hover a card for its checkbox) to queue, pause, mark sold, add a snippet, export or remove them together.
- Editor (click a card): every field, photos (reorder, set the cover, rotate and crop, remove duplicates), private notes, sold price, history, and the last 5 versions with Restore.
- Categories: Facebook's Edit page uses detailed categories (e.g. "Men's trousers") that the new-listing form doesn't have. The extension translates them ("Men's clothing & shoes"); the editor shows what it'll be posted as.
- Snippets (Tools): reusable text for pickup, payment or condition notes, insertable into descriptions.
Stats
Facebook shows clicks only on your Selling page, so the extension records them whenever you open it (or click Refresh from Facebook). The Stats tab shows relists, renewals and sales; clicks per day before and after a relist; clicks by category; and your account's saves, shares and followers from Facebook Insights. Each listing's editor has its posting history. Saves and shares are only available for the whole account, not per listing.
Backup & spreadsheet
- Download backup (Tools): one file with everything, photos included. Restore from a backup brings it back, e.g. on a new computer.
- CSV: export details to edit prices or descriptions in Excel or Google Sheets, then import to update. No photos.

Buy from the extension: Dashboard → Settings → Plan → Unlock lifetime. Checkout and receipts are handled by Polar. All sales are final, so try the free plan first (terms).
Unlocking after you buy
Sign in with your purchase email (easiest)
- Dashboard → Settings → Plan → enter the email you used at checkout → Send code.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the email (check spam; it's valid for 10 minutes) → Unlock.
Or paste your license key
- Find the key in your Polar receipt email (it starts with
MLA-). - Plan → Use a license key instead → paste it → Activate.
Good to know
- New computer or browser? Do the same there; one purchase covers up to 3 browsers. Remove it from an old one with Remove from this browser.
- Lost the key? Sign in with your email instead, or find the key in Polar's customer portal (link in your receipt).
- The extension re-checks the unlock about once a week and keeps working offline for 30 days.
Troubleshooting
The panel says "Facebook is not in English"
The extension reads Facebook's English pages. Switch Facebook to English (UK) or English (US): Facebook → Settings → Language and region → Account language, then reload the page.
The category picked is wrong, or a field shows "?"
"?" means it picked the closest category and wants you to check it. Fix it on the form before publishing, and fix the saved copy in the dashboard editor (Category field) so next time is right. If a category keeps coming out wrong, tell me which one.
A field didn't fill, or a dropdown stayed open
Facebook sometimes changes its forms or loads slowly. Fill that field by hand, or click Fill again in the panel. Facebook may also simply not have that field for the chosen category; those are listed as "Not on this form".
"Couldn't find the old listing"
Facebook stopped loading your listings before it showed up. Keep the Facebook tab on screen and click Look again, or delete the old one yourself (⋯ → Delete listing) and click I removed it myself. If you renamed the listing on Facebook, it's still there under the new name.
Import or Refresh didn't get all my listings
Facebook loads listings a few at a time and only while its tab is visible. Keep the tab on screen until it says it's finished, then run it again. Listings it didn't see are never marked as missing.
"Repost running in another tab"
A relist runs in one Facebook tab only, so nothing happens twice. Go to the other tab, or click Continue here instead.
"Unfinished repost" when I open Facebook
A relist was interrupted (browser closed or forgotten). Choose Continue or Cancel. If it says the old listing was already deleted, the item isn't on Marketplace: choose Post it now.
"Something went wrong" right after updating the extension
Reload your Facebook tabs: tabs opened before an update still run the old version.
Free reposts used, but I bought the unlock
Open Settings → Plan and sign in with your purchase email or paste your key. If it says the key isn't active, it may have been refunded; contact me with your receipt.
FAQ
Does it post by itself?
No. It fills Facebook's forms and can click Facebook's own Renew and Delete buttons when you ask; you review and click Publish for every new listing.
Will relisting get more views?
It can help a listing that has gone quiet, but there's no guarantee of more views or a sale. The Stats tab shows what actually happened.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your browser. Your listings and photos are never uploaded anywhere. If you buy the unlock, only your license key or purchase email is checked. See the privacy policy.
Does it work for vehicles and property?
Yes: items in every category, vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats and more) and property for rent or sale, each with their own fields.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final, which is why the free plan includes every feature. Refunds are only given where the law or our payment provider requires them. See the terms.
